The Gingersnap 5K is an annual fundraiser for Girls on the Run Union County, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exists to help girls realize their limitless potential. Results are managed by ShaZam Racing.
In-person Race Guidelines
The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, we encourage a headphone-free environment during the running of the Gingersnap 5K.
Jogging strollers are permitted, however, please be mindful and start at the back of the group.
Run the USATF certified course through Waxhaw, NC on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 8am. Included in your in-person registration fee is a race shirt, medal, and race bib. Race shirts and medals are guaranteed to all participants who register by October 31, 2024.
Virtual Race Information
We want to give everyone the opportunity to experience the Gingersnap 5K and what better way than to run with us wherever you are! Included in your virtual registration fee is a race shirt, medal, and race bib. Race shirts and medals are guaranteed to all participants who register by October 31, 2024.
For the virtual run, you get to choose the race course and your start time! Run around your neighborhood, favorite park or anywhere else of your choice. All you have to do is complete your run or walk and upload your time to be recognized for this accomplishment with all of our runners!

Pick up your race packet or we can mail it to you! Packet mailing option is available at time of registration for a $10 fee. NOTE: Shipping is only available to the continental 48 US States. We are unable to ship to a PO Box address. If your shipping address is ineligible, you will be cancelled, refunded and contacted. Shipments will begin the week of November 4, 2024.
